Tankless water heaters

Endless Hot Water. A Fraction of the Energy.

Tankless water heaters heat water only when you need it — no storage tank, no standby losses, no cold showers behind the dishwasher.

On-demand hot water

The last water heater decision you'll make for 20 years.

A tank water heater keeps 40-50 gallons hot around the clock whether you use it or not — and when the tank's empty, you're waiting. A tankless unit heats water the instant a tap opens and never runs out. The efficiency difference shows up on your gas bill every month.

AJM installs and services gas tankless systems from the major manufacturers, sized to your home's real demand — showers, laundry, dishwasher, all at once. Proper sizing and proper gas-line and venting work are what separate a tankless that delights from one that disappoints, and it's exactly the work we've done across Philly and South Jersey for years.

Already have a tankless? We service and descale existing units too. Annual descaling matters in our region's water, and it's the difference between a 10-year unit and a 20-year unit.

Know the warning signs

Six signs it's time to go tankless

01You run out of hot water

Back-to-back showers beat the tank. Tankless never runs out — it heats as you use.

02Your tank is 10+ years old

Tanks fail at 10-15 years, usually by leaking. Replacing proactively beats a flooded basement.

03Rust-tinted hot water

Rust in hot water only means the tank is corroding from the inside. The clock is ticking.

04Water pooling at the base

A weeping tank never heals. It's telling you exactly how it will fail.

05High gas bills

Keeping 50 gallons hot 24/7 is expensive. On-demand heating eliminates the standby waste.

06You need the floor space

A tankless hangs on the wall. Basement corner, reclaimed.

Common questions

Tankless Water Heaters FAQs

Does tankless really save money?

Yes — typically 30%+ on water-heating energy, because you stop paying to keep a tank hot around the clock. The unit costs more upfront; with normal usage the gap closes over the first several years, then it's savings from there.

Can one tankless unit handle my whole house?

A properly sized unit handles a typical Philly home — two showers and an appliance simultaneously — without blinking. Large homes with high simultaneous demand sometimes warrant a second unit, and we'll tell you honestly if yours does.

What maintenance does a tankless need?

An annual descaling flush, especially with our region's water hardness. It takes under an hour and is the single biggest factor in reaching that 20-year lifespan.

My water heater is leaking right now. How fast can you replace it?

Call us — leaking tanks are a same-day priority. If you want to convert to tankless on the spot, we can usually do the full swap that day; otherwise we'll get a new tank in immediately.
